In a school district the size of the Wauneta-Palisade Public Schools district, a handful of kids can make a big difference.
W-P Superintendent Randy Geier informed Breeze staff earlier this week that the school’s enrollment for the 2013-2014 school year will be 227 students.
This number demonstrates a substantial jump in enrollment–nearly 11 percent–for our local school district, whose enrollment last year was 208.
“The upward trend in our enrollment is a very positive sign for our school system.” said Geier. “Hopefully our numbers will continue to grow!”
The 227 students this year at W-P schools includes 32 pre-schoolers, 109 elementary students (K-6), 34 junior high (7-8) students and 52 students in the high school (9-12).
The two largest classes this year are the kindergarten and first grade classes, each with 19 students. The smallest class this year is the fifth grade with 11 students.
