|Wauneta Co-op Oil holds annual stockholders meeting|

Wauneta Co-op Oil Company with locations in Wauneta and Palisade held their annual stockholder’s meeting on Saturday, Sept. 28 at the Wauneta Senior Center.
Approximately 60 Co-op patrons, staff and family members attended the annual meeting. The evening event featured a meal, six door prizes and election of officers for the company.
The meal of pulled pork sandwiches and salads was provided by the Wauneta Senior Center. The pulled pork was purchased from the Wauneta Chamber.
Most years, the annual stockholders meeting also includes financial and audit reports, which were unavailable this year.
According to Wauneta Co-op Oil staffmembers, the financials were unavailable due to issues encountered by the compay’s new audit company, Dana F. Cole & Company, LLP of Ogallala.
Kathy Hutchins with Wauneta Co-op Oil explained that the reason their new auditors experienced difficulties was due to the accounting software the company uses. They expect the financials to be available later this month.
Three Wauneta Co-op Oil board members were due for reelection this year. Ivy Ellicot, Kevin Kerchal and Jerry Vapinek were all reelected to their positions.
Other board members include Kent Kitt, Joe Barger, Ray Ridlen and Jed Doetker. Barger serves as board president and Kerchal serves as secretary.
