It was a tough day for the Wauneta-Palisade wrestlers Friday, Dec. 6 at Elwood.
WP didn’t pick up a win at the Elwood Invitational, which was the first career meet for Cody Barrett, Jake Day and Joseph Sramek.
“We had a tough go on Friday,” said coach Chad Cochran. “We didn’t have any wins, but we learned a lot.”
Cochran said his wrestlers got better as the day went on.
“You could clearly see their confidence levels go up throughout the day.”
With a meet under their belts, Barrett, Day, Sramek and Gage Crowell now have more specific areas to work on heading into Friday’s invitational at Southern Valley.
“It was a relief to get that first meet out of the way,” said Cochran. “Overall, I was happy with what I saw out of everyone on Friday, especially for it being most everyone’s first wrestling meet.”
