|Wrestlers wrap up 2013 in Cambridge, Crowell finishes fifth|

The Wauneta-Palisade wrestlers wrapped up December with a trip to Cambridge Saturday, Dec. 21.
Gage Crowell led the team with a fifth place finish in the 14-man 170 pound weight bracket.
After opening the meet with a bye, Crowell won his quarterfinal match by pin. He lost in the semifinals to eventual runner-up Dayton Kempt of the Oberlin JV squad.
Moving to the consolation bracket, Crowell lost to Lucas Pistulka of Wilcox/Hildreth.
Crowell went on to win fifth place with a major decision over Harlen Reed of Superior.
Also wrestling for the Broncos were Joe Sramek and Cody Barrett.
Sramek also received a first round bye in the 138 pound weight bracket. In the quarterfinals he lost to Grant Dalhgren of Loomis/Bertrand. Dahlgren placed fifth in the 13-man bracket.
In the consolation round Sramek finished his day with a loss to Jude Wallinder of Oberlin JV.
Barrett wrestled in the 16-man 145 pound weight class.
Barrett opened the meet with a loss to fourth place finisher Rafael Guerrero of Harvard.
In the consolation round, Barrett lost to Lane Morris of Superior.
WP has the remainder of 2013 off.
The team will next be in action Saturday, Jan. 11 at Dundy County-Stratton.
The following week the team will travel to Chase County and then have the RPAC meet.
