Chase County’s Progressive Agriculture Ag Safety Day for youths is fast approaching.
The June 21 event will be held at the fairgrounds from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., when youths will be able to take in an immense amount of safety information, much of it hands-on.
Organizer Chris Tomky said registrations are still being taken from youths age six to 13.
Forms are online at: www.chase3000.com. Cost to attend is $10 per child, which includes lunch, snacks, a t-shirt and take-home bag. Families will pay no more than $30 max.
Topics to be covered this year as youths move from station-to-station include grain dangers, chemical safety, fire safety, tractor safety, underground hazards, first aid, electricity, water safety and a bicycle camp.
Kristi Ruth, who suffered a farm accident, will return as the day’s opening speaker.
