Enrollment numbers are important in all school districts, but especially so in smaller school districts like Wauneta-Palisade. Therefore, it’s great news to report that the enrollment numbers at Wauneta-Palisade Schools are staying steady.
As of now there are 194 students enrolled in Kindergarten through 12th grade and an additional 23 preschoolers enrolled.
At the August school board meeting, administrators were hopeful that the 2014-2015 enrollment numbers for K-12 might break the 200 mark. The last year the school district surpassed 200 students in K-12 was in 2007-2008.
Even though enrollment numbers are not past 200 for the current school year yet, the school still has a chance to meet the benchmark. According to school staff members, new students may be entering the district. It is also likely that new families may move into the district throughout the year.
