Gas prices see slight rise as year ends

Average retail gasoline prices in Nebraska rose three cents per gallon as of Sunday, averaging $2.41 a gallon.
    That’s according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 1,150 gas outlets in Nebraska. Nationally, gas prices averaged a one cent increase to $2.43.
    Including the recent change in prices, Nebraskans have experienced costs 14.2 cents a gallon higher than the same day a year ago and are now 5.3 cents per gallon lower than a month ago.
    The national average has decreased 6.5 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 14.9 cents per gallon higher than this day one year ago.
    According to GasBuddy historical data, gasoline prices on Dec. 26 in Nebraska have ranged widely over the last five years:
    $2.27 in 2016
    $1.91 in 2015
    $2.19 in 2014
    $3.04 in 2013 and
    $3.17 in 2012
