WCTC Happenings

From this very special home on the hill, home of Wauneta Care and Therapy Center. It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas here. Those are the first words of a Christmas song.
    To help one another.
I got a first Christmas card from my niece Cassandra. My husband, Vearl, had a whole passel of nieces and nephews. Now they are mine. Cassandra is the daughter of nephew Arch Redford. He spent parts of many summers with us and Vearl insisted he could stay on if he would go to High School and he graduated at Wauneta High School in 1949. How about that, folks. Did we feel happy about that!
So I have to tell about the card from Cass. We’ve all seen those pop up greeting cards. If you open it to see what message is in it, but you’ll jump at what pops up. Maybe a picture of a big, pretty flower or a big dog or some other character.
This pop-up one was about the Christmas Story and it was a nice replica of the story. It was a neat stable made of little strips of colored wood then brushed gently with dark black maybe magic marker or brown shoe polish. A tiny little animal stood at the front of the stable. I was sure it was a donkey at first. It is part of the story, but later I saw it had humps and the head of a camel. It doesn’t mention a camel in the story, do you think?
