Final schedule set for this year’s Harvest Festival
The final schedule has been set for this year’s Harvest Festival, “Blame It All on My Roots.”
Festivities will open at 5 p.m. (all times MT) Thursday, July 18, at the Wauneta Senior Center with sloppy joes served until 7 p.m. After a one-year hiatus, the talent show will be at the Chateau Theatre at 6:30 p.m. And if the night proves warm, night swim will be $1 at the swimming pool from 7 to 10 p.m.
July 19 activities will center around the village park. Those will begin at noon with an ice cream coach. Regular swim will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m., followed at 3 p.m. by paddle boat races and the pop dive The craft and vendor show will run from 5 to 8 p.m.; walking tacos will be available from 5 to 7 p.m. at the shelter by the pool, with the Fischer Smoking
Food truck in the park at 5 p.m.
Pie a cheerleader will be at 5 p.m. and the Wauneta Public Schools Interact Club booth will open at 5 p.m. Sand volleyball will begin at 5 p.m., with kids games starting a half-hour later.
From 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., a bounce house, human foosball and nine square in the air will run. The Young Guns vs. Has Beens softball game, a repeat of an activity that was new last year, will be at 6 p.m.
July 20 will be the event’s busiest, longest day.
Registration for the Yucca Run will be at 6:30 a.m. at the Senior Center, with the race starting at 7 a.m. in front of the center. The fun run will start at 7:45 a.m. at the same place.
